Harbourfront is a waterfront tourist, residential and cultural real estate development along Lake Ontario, in the city of Toronto. It incorporates a unique mixture of residential, cultural, recreational and commercial uses within this community. Along it is the Gardiner Expressway, and closer to the harbourfront is Lakeshore Avenue both leading to the downtown Toronto area. Harbourfront Centre is a former warehouse converted into a mixed-use building, including a shopping centre office space, and residential loft and condominium development. It is an area with small houses, mainly older and some newly built condominium buildings, small shops, and restaurants, predominately catering to tourists along the lake shore and shipping docks along the water. A terrific lakeside walking trail and cruises of the harbour and ferry services run from here. Toronto's waterfront is already quite spectacular, with galleries, walking trails and art, film and theatre complexes It is a beautiful location for a view of Lake Ontario, and as well the city of Toronto
