Downtown is the center of the metro Toronto which is bordered by Bloor Street to the north and Lake Ontario to the south. It’s home to many downtown high-rise condos and apartments. Due to the fact that most of its residents are employed in the downtown area, the population is high. One of the main areas in the downtown is The Bloor Yorkville, which has more than 700 boutiques, spas, restaurants, hotels and galleries. Downtown Yonge is also a main area that holds a large concentration of retail, to include 600 retail stores, 150 bars and restaurants, 7 hotels and landmarks. The historical sites to see include: The Arts and Letter Club, The Church of the Holy Trinity, Mackenzie House and the Toronto Police Museum and Discovery Center. Downtown is also known to be one of the largest areas in Toronto to hold 19th century buildings.
